hi all,
wasnt sure this fitted into the scripting category so hope it's ok here.
I'd like to stream some mp3s via a radio style object in SL.
however once the person has the radio and sees the mp3 in the land media settings they could easily distribute the music. Similarly anybody else could link inworld to the music.
Are there any ways of protecting the content at all? Or at least disguising it to discourage people from snatching the URL straight away?
I realise if somebody wants it's really badly they will get it but if i can do my best to prevent any tunes being abused it'd be great :-)
Perhaps those who sell machinima in-world have ran across a similar problem?
Thanks in advance!
You can stream music on land you own, and most people won't see the url, but anyone who wants to do so will turn on advanced features and will be able to see it, or they will look in the log files.
If you mean to sell an object to someone so they can stream your music on their land, well, they by definition can read the url of the music stream.
