Today I found the LSLEditor project. It's an LSL coding and debug environment you can use to write and test scripts outside of the SL environment. It's just what I've been looking for, as there are times I want to code LSL but am not on the grid. LSL-Editor is a Windows program you can run anytime. There is no 3D environment so you can't see the visual results of, say, a particle emission, but it is a script editor, debugger, and it has a console window that at runtime displays script output.
