This forum uses software called Vanilla which may be unfamiliar to some, and also has a few quirks - this sticky exists in an attempt to make things simpler.
Starting A New Discussion (or "thread") - a simple task, simply click the link at the top left of the page.
Formatting - you may use simple text, BBCode (as per many forums and discussion boards elsewhere, including the Official Second Life ones, except that here the tags are actually turned on) or Markdown by selecting the format you wish to use from the list underneath the posting box.
To post a code snippet, surround the text with [quote] and [/quote] when using BBCode formatting, or with backticks (`) Markdown (or indent the code with three or more spaces).
RSS feeds - each discussion, category and the main board should have a link on the left hand side to an appropriate RSS feed, should you wish to subscribe to anything using some sort of RSS reader thingummy.
Known Issues
system ();
(if one removes the space between system and the first parenthesis). This may cause issues for anyone posting code involving the llParticleSystem function. Inserting a space between the "m" and the "(" should avoid this, and the code should also work properly in LSL, but I am attempting to find a way around this.

Whispering - both comments and entire discussions can be "whispered" to a particular person, so that they are only visible to them (and, I have to say, I think I will be able to see them as well as an administrator). If some sort of personal side-issue arises with which you do not wish to disrupt the progress of a discussion, this might be productive. Enter the name of the person you wish to whisper to in the appropriate box to use this feature.
