Youth: no longer Restricted (a Late Post)

I did wish to wait until Matters were Officially Recognised, but with reference to my previous Entry, it is now confirmed that the policy has been Changed and that those with Diminutive Avatars have been accepted with Child-Related Builds to Second Life’s Fifth Birthday. Which is of course all a good thing and deserving of lashings of ginger beer. Apart from the odd peculiar comment about nipples, it seems that sanity has prevailed, and I am sure that everyone would join me in celebrating this, as long as no chafing was involved.

(P.S.: Or Perhaps Actually There Are Still Restrictions)

I’m still confused, though. Were child avatars prohibited from appearing at the SL5B or exhibiting there? I thought it was that they just couldn’t have an exhibit, but from some of the “enflamed” posts and threads in various blogs and boards, it seemed they couldn’t even BE there at all.

In any case, I’m sure these issues will only get more contentious in the future.

It was initially stated that all exhibits by child avatars would be rejected, but that child avatars were not prevented from attending - I suspect that the attendance thing may just have been exaggeration and rumour. The exhibition ban was certainly the case though beforehand, though.

When an LL staffer told the child avatars that they could not present, they asked her if they could *attend*. She said she was not able to answer that question. It took six days before an answer came back, which was ultimately “yes”. The telling part was the unwillingness to commit to any answer for nearly a week.
