A post from the Grid

Well. The SLurlblogger seems to be relatively operational now. All I have to do is write up the damned documentation on how to set it up to post to Typepad, Wordpress, Blogger and all of those nonsense things.

Individual notes can be taken and appear as paragraphs, as you see, and the display of SLurls can be turned off if need be.

I have also set it up so that it is more menu-driven, which is clearly a useful thing and makes the business of configuration considerably easier. Of course, with this method, paragraphs are limited to the size of the chat box, but that is really...

...rather large, and in any case overlong paragraphs spoil the Readableness of a document, I find.

If only it could post screenshots one would never have to leave the Grid. Incidentally, is it just me, or is the colour of chat text a little unpredictable? I've seen my own chat appear in green and that of objects in white, occasionally.

...mice in haaaaats...

oh...

so...

pretty!

That's going to be the musical accompaniment to the next piece of cinema I do, assuming that I can find a suitable chorus to sing it.

Great, Ordinal. Will it support also wordpress.com hosted blogs? I'm currently updating http://signore.wordpress.com via blogHUD and I would be interested in using other tools also.
I have been succesfully using the SLurlblogger for emails, but unfortunately *.wordpress.com don't support blogging via email yet.
Keep up the good work :)

Wow, sounds very good. Oh, the screenshot should be doable by having some tool that can externally receive a screenshot via mail and forward it to wordpress via upload?

Alternatively your slurlblogger thingy might be able to employ snapzilla: mail your screenshot to snapzilla the normal way, then have a ref in your next slurlblog like [IMG:LAST] or [IMG:] to reference the image in your snapzilla stream?

anyway, the ability to do multi-paragraph blogging from inworld might be what will make me finally start to update my own SL blog more regularily.

Signore: at the moment it posts using the Blogger API, which is compatible with Wordpress, so as long as wordpress.com allows XML-RPC posting it should be fine with wordpress.com blogs. Clearly it is fine with Wordpress on independent servers, otherwise this post would not be appearing, and it should be fine with Movable Type / Typepad as well, in theory.

Wonderful!

And perhaps the start of some new form of in-world live reporting?

Hmm... I *may* be able to get someone to SLURL all of Caledon's businesses one day, too.

Job creation with this, perhaps?

Dear Miss Malaprop,

Do please contact me in-world at some point to discuss extending the API interface to handle the Metaweblog API as well, unless it already supports said API. I would be most interested in supplying you with the appropriate bits of LSL.
